Tours. We would love to show you our beautiful campus! Scheduled tours occur on the first Saturday of the month at 2.00 pm. All tours must be arranged in advance by calling 970.586.0600. Tours take about 1 1/2 hours and involve walking, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. (We tour in any kind of weather, so dress appropriately!
Visits. Eagle Rock hosts educator visits that last anywhere from half a day to a week (longer than a week is possible). Individuals or groups are welcome. Groups may be role-alike or composed of a mixture of people interested in education of young people: superintendents, central office staff, boards of education, teachers, parents, community members, support staff, state department personnel, policymakers, etc. Visits are custom-designed to meet the purposes of visiting individual or group.
Fellowships. One year, residential opportunities for emerging educators with a college degree and an interest in education and youth development. Room, board, stipend, health insurance, and scholarship provided. Public Allies is a partner with Eagle Rock in sponsoring Fellowships. Internships. From one trimester to one year in length, residential opportunities for educators with an interest in education and youth development. Residential with room and board provided. More information on internships.
Pre-Student Teaching Practicums. Hours and activities vary depending on requirements of practicum. Residential with room and board provided. More information about Practicums.
Student Teaching. Coordinating teacher will be one of our certified Instructional Specialists with additional mentoring provided by our Professional Development Center Staff. Residential, with room and board provided. Must extend from the beginning of one of our three trimesters until the end, even if dates do not match university dates. Residencies. Practicing teachers or administrators may propose a residency for any period of time. The work of the residency might be entirely research, entirely teaching or some combination of the two, with objectives that benefit both Eagle Rock and the teacher/administrator in residence. Research. Eagle Rock is pleased to support researchers working on either a Master¹s or Doctorate degrees. The researcher¹s proposal needs to be approved not only by the applicant¹s college or department but also by Eagle Rock. Eagle Rock administrators are able to serve on the applicant¹s committee if needed. Residential with room and board provided. Students¹ parents or guardians have signed releases that provide Eagle Rock and those associated with Eagle Rock access to data. More information about Research.
Technical Assistance. Eagle Rock staff and students can visit an educational site in order to assist with school reform initiatives.
Publications and Presentations. Dozens of publications, two books about Eagle Rock (The Other Side of the Curriculum: Lessons For Learners and Engaging the Disengaged - How Schools Can Help Struggling Students Succeed) and a DVD about Eagle Rock are available. Staff and students make presentations at conferences and other events.
