Eagle Rock School & Professional Development Center Named 2025 Organizational Member of the Year by the Association for Experiential Education

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news: Eagle Rock School and Professional Development Center has been named the 2025 Organizational Member of the Year by the Association for Experiential Education (AEE)!

This annual award, established in 1997, recognizes organizations that deliver innovative, high-quality programming while staying deeply committed to AEE’s mission and values. To receive it, an organization must have maintained excellence for at least five years, exemplified high ethical standards, and demonstrated consistent support for the work of AEE.

Nestled in the mountains of Estes Park, Colorado, Eagle Rock is a nationally recognized, full-scholarship, year-round residential high school for students ages 15–17. Our innovative and holistic approach empowers young people to engage deeply in their education, discover their unique potential, and become catalysts for positive change in their communities.

But our work doesn’t stop at Eagle Rock’s campus. Through our Professional Development Center, we partner with schools and educators nationwide to advance educational equity and ignite systemic change. Together, we help schools create learning environments where students are truly at the center of their education — a vision that aligns perfectly with AEE’s mission to expand the field of experiential education.

The award was officially presented on Saturday, November 8, 2025, during the AEE International Conference at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown and accepted by Jordan Cerna, Eagle Rock’s Outdoor Education Program Manager.

We are honored to be recognized by AEE and grateful for the chance to continue this work alongside an incredible network of experiential educators.
