Student Experience

As a new student, your Eagle Rock career begins with a 24-day wilderness orientation trip. Once returning to campus, the next 2+ years of your life will be a journey of self discovery and growth, immersed in an intentionally diverse and dynamic community of learners.

Community is one of our favorite words at Eagle Rock. While there are places and spaces for alone time, more often than not we are together: gathering for community meetings, meals, classes, residential programming, service, exercise and intramural sports, advisory or house events. Our close relationships mean support is always available, and our commitment to each other's success helps us overcome challenges in our way. We do things a little differently around here, so it takes a while to understand how it all works. Then once you do, everything will change! With each incoming group of students or new staff members, our community evolves to meet and reflect new needs, assets and interests. We are also constantly examining and revising how we approach learning, to be as inclusive and innovative as possible. And we don't forget to have fun; joy is an essential part of our curriculum. We create a lot of magic at Eagle Rock, and everyone plays a role.
